Here’s Footage From Night One of LCD Soundsystem’s 20 Night Stand at Brooklyn Steel: Watch

Perennial dance punk band LCD Soundsystem played their first night of their sold-out 20 shows at Brooklyn Steel. Their first show in over three years and first in their stomping ground of New York in over four.

Last night was not without its hesitations as Brooklyn Vegan reports an amp blew 30 seconds into the opening number, a brand-new cover of “Big City” by psychedelic minimalists Spacemen 3. Murphy joked, "Welcome to the longest soundcheck in front of the most amount of people of all time"

LCD Soundsystem ran through their storied legacy including insider crowd favourites with covers of Joy Division’s “No Love Lost” and Kraftwerk’s “Radio-Activity” which led into “I Can Change.”

LCD Soundsystem will be playing November 23, 24, 29, & 30, and December 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, & 19.
