The first set of songs on the highly awaited new Beach House record Once Twice Melody arrived at midnight last night accompanied by animated visuals.

The 18-song double album announced yesterday will be released in “chapters” with the next selections arriving on December 8, January 19, and February 18 with its full release.

Today’s release sees “Superstar,” “Pink Funeral,” and “Through Me” joined with the title track which debuted yesterday on SiriusXMUI.

The album features a live string ensemble and is produced entirely by Beach House, marking a first in their career.

Beach House are referred to as an epic cross section between dream house and shoegaze, though their style has evolved to incorporate other elements. Since building esteem with the one two punch of their first two records, Beach House and Devotion, the duo has gained an excellent reputation for their towering live performances, with just Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally arranging their famous wall of sound seemingly from scratch.

Pitchfork’s Lindsay Zoladz described their music as “luminous, sky-sized songs that conjure some alternate universe where Cocteau Twins have headlined every stadium on Atlantis.”

Tickets for Beach House's concert at Massey Hall will go on sale to members of anti-bullying foundation Friends First on November 18 before they are available to the general public on November 19, next Friday. Buy tickets here.
