Other characters including a tomato, a roll of toilet paper, a showerhead, a cupcake, and a cob of corn facilitate The Little Thing’s journey. Its story is told in a whopping 32 pages.
The Book also includes an audio equivalent down which marketing materials call a “talking book” which is read by Cave himself and features music from Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.
In September, Warren Ellis also released a book called Nina Simone’s Gum which looks at the perversity of fan relics through a piece of gum Ellis recovered from the vocal jazz icon following the Meltdown Festival in 1999 which Cave curated.
