The 2022 lineup for Osheaga is here and after three years without an event, the festival seems to be making up for lost time. On Wednesday morning, the festival shared a poster for its upcoming iteration running July 29 – 31 throughout the Parc Jean Drapeau.
Its headliners, perhaps the biggest combination the festival has ever seen, were announced as Foo Fighters, A$AP Rocky, and Dua Lipa, yet share the same font size as the bottom line. Osheaga 2022 has booked 100 acts in comparison to last year’s smaller version, Osheaga Get Together comprising of just 30.
The capacity has also been upped from last year from 7500 per day to 50,000. Osheaga’s performers are dispersed through six stages named after the scenery that comprises the park: River, Mountain, Valley, Green, Island and Tree.
It’s an impressive lineup with big headliners and strong middle and bottom line acts that deliver on the festival’s reputation of eclecticism and Canadian inclusion, as well as marquee talent much of which is pulled from around the globe. Charli XCX, Slowthai, and IDLES represent the best of British music and Afrobeat artist Burna Boy is a global sensation.
The festival continues to pull some amazing bands and hold their candle to the current guard of indie music: Mitski, Bleachers, Turnstile, and Lucy Dacus could sell out venues on their own tours undoubtedly.
The inclusion of Machine Gun Kelly will either be defined by the affinity for pop punk from the Osheaga crowd or if Megan Fox tags along and takes a selfie sidestage.
Tickets go on sale Friday at noon. A three day pass will run you a base price of $375 or you can opt for the one-days for $145.
