“Hold On,” a piano ballad and the second officially released recording from Adele’s hugely anticipated 30 has arrived in the form of a Holiday Commercial.
Amazon, who likely forked over large sums to ensure eyes meet their latest Christmas shopping campaign dropped the advert yesterday following Saturday’s filming for the upcoming ITV exclusive An Audience With Adele.
The commercial depicts the anxieties of urban life which the retail giant prescribes the giving of gifts as a remedy, an act they refer to as kind-ness.
Adele croons in the background:
“I swear to god I’m such a mess / The harder that I try, I regress,”
“Right now, I truly hate being me.”
“Let time be patient / Let pain be gracious / Just hold on, just hold on / I will survive,”
Adele’s 30 is out next Friday November 19 via Columbia. Its contributors are impressively billed: Greg Kurstin, Max Martin, Shellback, Tobias Jesso Jr, Inflo, and Ludwig Göransson.
Variety reports that the upcoming release has sent Vinyl Pressing Plants into overdrive producing 500,000 copies of an album that had to be turned in more than six months ago to meet the demand.
Adele: One Night Only which features a performance from the diva and an interview with Oprah Winfrey will air on CBS on November 14, the Sunday before the album’s release.
Adele has booked two sold out concerts at Hyde Park in London for July 1 & 2.
For now, the rest of us will have to live with “Easy On Me.”
